Luis Marcelo Morales Maldonado
My name is Luis Marcelo Morales, I am Nicaraguan, and I was born in the city of Jinotepe, in the department of Carazo. I am 26 years old, and in 2015 I graduated from the International Agronomy University of Agriculture and Livestock (UNIAG), in Rivas, with a degree in agronomy. I also have a technician degree in agricultural sciences.
A couple of years ago, I had the privilege to meet Robert Oudman and his wife Leslee at my local church. It was there that we shared some of our experiences about agriculture as soon as we realized our mutual passion for this career. Later on he told me about a need for another agronomist at La Semilla Ministries and I was able to meet the director Wally Wiebe. They asked me to be part of this amazing team and I immediately said yes.
I currently work for La Semilla as an agronomist. I work alongside our other agronomists, Franklin, Ariel, & Ronald in providing technical assistance in the cultivation of beans, corn and sorghum and in doing rural extension work in roughly 40 communities. To me, working at La Semilla Ministries has been such a blessing since I have had the opportunity to develop myself in my field of study, and more importantly have been involved in God’s work. La Semilla has taught me to strengthen my relationship with God, and by his grace I hope to work harder each day and deliver his love and good news to the producers who, along with us, are struggling against climate change. As a matter of fact, that’s what keeps our faith and passion even stronger.
My vision for the future is to continue growing in my spiritual and technical knowledge to be better able to serve God, this ministry, our producers, my friends, and my family. Please pray that God will encourage and strengthen me in this work.
