    Ahhhh….beautiful Nicaragua. This tropical paradise has a lot going for it, but certainly faces it’s challenges. Want to learn more about what we do here in Nicaragua and ways that perhaps you could get plugged into the work and services here?  We’re offering a look – see vision trip in November, from the 18th to the 24th. The majority will fly out of Calgary, but you could catch up with the tour from whichever airport is closer for you. In the space of 5 short days, come and experience unique culture, cuisine, beautiful countryside, and also the programs of La Semilla Ministries. Deadline to commit is Sept. 18. Cost?  Although La Semilla Ministries is principally an Agriculture/Economic Development organization, we DO have a heart for the people we interact with. As we work with families in the rural communities of Carazo province, Nicaragua, we often are compelled to aid in the area of community development. That has led us to be involved in such things as clean water initiatives, local school infrastructure improvements, and, most recently – a community medical center. The community of La Chona sits at km 31 along the Panamerican Highway south of Managua. Doctors do sometimes visit patients in their homes to attend to various illnesses, but this community is definitely in need of a permanent facility where medical staff can help on a regular and predictable basis.
